Welcome! My name is Jenni and I’m so glad you’re here.
Simply Prudent was born out of a personal blog (under a different name) that I started as a newlywed wife and homemaker in 2010. A year later, I am a new stay-at-home mom with a growing desire to discover how to cultivate prudent simplicity in the heart and home. The goal of this blog is to share those discoveries with you and hopefully learn from you as well.
What is prudent simplicity?
Prudence, as defined by the dictionary, is being wise in practical affairs, prepared for the future, and having common sense. The Bible links prudence with seeking and acting with knowledge and godly wisdom (Proverbs 13:16a; 18:15).
Simplicity is defined as freedom from complexity and the absence of luxury and pretentiousness.
Prudent simplicity will look different for every person and every family. Ultimately, I believe it is discovering what is best for your family by learning to rely on God’s direction as you seek His wisdom.
I hope you will find many practical tips for cultivating prudent simplicity in your heart and home on this blog.
